AGM 21st November 2018 – held at The Raven, Poulshot.
9 members present. Apologies for absence – Geoff Hobson.
The minutes of the2017 AGM were read and approved.
Matters arising none.
Chairman’ s report: Dan Lawrence reported a disappointing year for attracting new members but praised the interesting and varied programme.
Secretary’s report: Please see attached by Mark Woodlands.
Treasurer’s report: Richard Jeffery reported on another good year financially with another small income over expenditure.
Adoption of the Accounts for 2018 – Proposed: Verity Jeffery Seconded: Mark Woodlands
Election of Officers of the Society.
Chairman: Dan Lawrence Proposed: Richard Jeffery Seconded: Natalie Jeffery
Secretary: Mark Woodlands Proposed: Dan Lawrence Seconded: Richard Jeffery
Treasurer: Richard Jeffery Proposed: Dan Lawrence Seconded: Michael Bull
Vice Chairman: Geoff Collett Proposed: Dan Lawrence Seconded: Mark Woodlands
Committee membership – all accepted as previous year: Michael Bull, Geoff Hobson, Verity Jeffery, Natalie Jeffery, Mark Lympany.
2019 Programme – A committee meeting will be held on Wednesday 23rd January 2019 to confirm the 2019 programme. Initial discussions framed the following programme:
March – Spring Auction
April – Mike Stone (details with Mark)
May – Visit to Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (Mark to confirm ideally week beginning 29th May)
June – Recent acquisitions
July - Summer Auction
August – no meeting
September – Summer Buffet
October – Autumn Auction
November – AGM and Quiz
December - Christmas Dinner
Any other business –
Although the Society has a Facebook page it was felt that we could have a more dedicated site. After some discussion Mark Woodlands said that he would explore the idea of having a dedicated web site and bring the findings back to the committee.
The venue was discussed and further assurances have been received that the Society could continue to use the Raven Pub, Poulshot for 2019.
Michael Bull won the quiz and the M. Bowden Cup.
